Presentation of the OneBus project

  • Hello,

I wanted to present my OneBus project (previously PetBus).

The OneBus can be connected to all Commodore 8bit computers and allows a user to do 3 things:

    1) Convert the different protocols (IEC, IEEE488 and TCBM) of Commodore 8 bit computers, with a visualization of the data transfer in real time. Using the appropriate connectors, a user can setup multiple devices on the same or on different buses.

    For example :

    - C64 to a 2031 IEEE488 bus and a 1551 TCBM bus drive.

    - C16 to a 2031.

    - PET8032 to a 1541 IEC bus drive and a 1551 TCBM bus drive.

    2) Connect to a Windows application "OneBus Network Devices" through the network, virtualizing 4 Commodore disk drives and 1 printer.

    3) Create a virtual network Commodore bus with 2 OneBus (client - server) allowing communication between the Commodore computer and physical devices through the network.

  • Wow! That sounds interesting!

EDIT: Will the project be open source?

Douglas Adams: "Everything, that is invented and exists at the time of your birth, is natural. Everything that is invented until you´re 35 is interesting, exciting and you can possibly make a career in it. Everything that is invented after you´re 35 is against the law of nature. Apply this list to movies, rock music, word processors and mobile phones to work out how old you are."
