Apple 2GS Bootdisk

    Hi Leute,

    ich hab soeben einen Apple 2GS ROM01 mit 1 MB RAM Erweiterung bekommen. Leider hab ich für das Ding keine Harddisk. Mit CTRL-BREAK komme ich ins BASIC. Nun bin ich aber auf der Suche nach einer 800KB GS/OS Bootdisk. Von Asimov hab ich die vielversprechende "GS_Sys601small_SingleDiskForROM1.zip heruntergeladen. Aber wie bekomme ich die nun am einfachsten auf den 2GS? Muss ich mich da mit ADTPro spielen (auf meinem IIc hab ich das vor einiger Zeit schon erfolgreich gemacht)? Ich hätte auch noch verschiedene 68k Macs sowie Mac-Emus am PC. Aber irgendwie lesen die alle das Disk Image nicht bzw. können es mit DiskCopy nicht auf eine echte Floppy schreiben. Könnte mir wer von Euch mit laufendem 2GS vielleicht eine System-Disk kopieren?

    Am einfachsten via ADTpro - Bootloader abtippen und dann mit seriellem Kabel ein ProDOS Image auf deinen IIGS übertragen und dann lokal die Boot Disk erzeugen.

    So, ich hab das Problem nun gemeistert und eine GS/OS Bootdisk (via PC und "klassischem Mac" erstellt. Die Vorgangsweise:

    • Look for 800 KB disk images, usually with file format = "Unadorned raw data", physical format = "sectors", file size = 819.200 Bytes
    • Use CiderPress on the PC to convert images into file format = "DiskCopy 4.2", file size = 838.484 Bytes
    • Use "Basilik II" (MacIntosh emulator) on the PC to copy the converted image file to an 1.4 MB disc in Apple MacIntosh HFS format (use of USB FDD is possible)
    • Copy the disk image to the hard disk of an old MacIntosh (e.g. a MacClassic running System 6.x)
    • Use Norton Utilities / Disk Editor to set correct file type for DiskCopy (Type = dImg, Creator = dCpy), otherwise DiskCopy will ignore the disk image
    • Use DiskCopy 4.2 to write the disk image to an 800 KB DD/GCR disk
    • Open the 800 KB DD/GCR disk on the Apple 2gs
