This will probably take quite long... but every now and then I continue working on that chip. A friend and I are just
preparing a discrete build which we can compare against:

aha nice (also happy to see that the TP1 pin is not forgotten

The plan is to full convert the whole chip as it is. We either do it fully/complete or not at all.
-
When you will be done converting the chip, what will be the next action ?
How will it become a chip? Etching the silicon wafer and packaging the chip must be expensive ? How will you proceed ? -

How will it become a chip? Etching the silicon wafer and packaging the chip must be expensive ? How will you proceed ?It will be a conversion to an FPGA... not a new chip.
The next steps will be:
- Converting the SVG layout to a netlist for Simulation of the digital part and conversion to "clean" HDL.
- Comparison of the analog part from the layout and comparing it to the schematics of the prototype.
-
-

Just in case https://www.reactivemicro.com/…-mockingboard-and-phasor/
I recommended this page to a relative and all he got was a digital emulator circuit !
So be aware! -
$450 for a SSI263 is gross... I should still my stock and retire

Wow... a few years back, they sold this chip for $45, which i found expensive...
The digital emulator circuit is news to me, can you elaborate?
I was searching for a good and 'cheap' pin-compatible replacement for some time now without any luck.
-
Yes...I collected several dozens at approximately $25-30 many years back. I'm glad I did without having plans at that time
-
